Natural Hair Mask For Damaged Hair

When I was in Turkey I noticed my hair began to get more dry and damaged, due to the chlorine in the pool and the sun, so when I got home I tried different treatments to try and tackle the problem, although some only made it worse.

So I thought that I would try a more natural treatment, which worked a treat!

What I used was a mix of honey and olive oil, honey adds moisture, nutrients and antioxidants to the hair which is said to encourage growth, where the olive all also adds moisture but also helps to keep your scalp healthy. Raw honey would work best for this but if you don't have any that's fine I just used gales original honey.

I used 3 table spoons of honey then added the olive oil until it thinned out the honey which was around 2-3 table spoons, its important to thin out the honey so that it washes out of your hair easier and doesn't leave you with a sticky mess. You may find it easier to put the honey in the microwave for a few seconds to make it easier to mix together, but make sure you leave it to cool down slightly so it doesn't burn you!

Next I wet my hair and added the mix, starting at the tips and working back into my roots, then I left the mix in for around 20-30 minutes, then I rinsed it out and washed my hair using my usual shampoo and conditioner.

At first I wasn't sure if this would work but once my hair was dry I saw amazing results, my hair had lost most of the straw like feeling and was shiny, smooth and all of my natural highlights seemed to show more, also there was more volume. A down side I did notice was, once my hair was dry my roots seemed to look a little greasy so make sure you thoroughly wash all of the mix out or you may have to wash your hair again, but compared to the results I got, I hardly see that as a down side.

To dry my hair I towel dried it then used the hair drier until most of my hair was dry, then left the rest to air dry. Usually when I do this my hair dries huge and the outer layers go extremely frizzy, and its hard to brush through, and brushing through it only makes it bigger, but not this time! This time my hair dried in beachy waves  and was super easy to brush through and it wasn't frizzy, just really shiny and looked styled so I will definitely try this again.

I plan to use this mask maybe once a week or once every two weeks as I hope to see the results improve over time and also because I its summer and I want to try and keep my hair as healthy as I can.

**One last tip - when you do this make sure its in old clothes because the oil will stain!**
I hope this works for you guy!

I'm Back

So I just finished my first year of college and then went on holiday to Turkey, from a young age iv always travelled, mostly around Europe, but Scotland and Ireland are still my favourite places to be. Although, I went to Turkey for the first time last year and its safe to say its now one of my fave's and I hope to travel there more over the years to come.

Even though I just got back off holiday I feel like the last 11 days were just a dream, and I want to go back, but while I was there I had time to reflect on other places I would like to visit:

1. Bali
2.Switzerland
3.Australia & New Zealand
4.Thailand
5.Japan

In September I am happy to say I will be crossing Switzerland off my list, although I have been there before when I was really young I don't remember it so I'm happy to be going back even if it's only for 4 days.

That's it for me tonight,  shall hopefully resume the beauty posts again once I get my head in to writing mode again.
