Avocado & Green Tea Hair Mask

Have you ever watched TV and wondered how the actresses manages to get frizz free, shiny hair? Well iv made a hair mask that gave me the answer and it was made using only three ingredients which I already had the house.

Ingredients:
4 teaspoons of olive oil
Half and avocado
Half a cup of green to (using just one tea bag)

I used a blender to mix this because it was quicker but also it helped the oil mix in with the other ingredients but if you don't have a blender all you have to do iv mash and mix it together.

I added plant of this too my hair, I sectioned off parts of my hair to make sure I didn't miss any spots then massaged it in. I left it for 20-30 minutes (I didn't want to miss corrie) then washed it out, I shampooed twice and then added conditioner to only the ends of my hair.

I picked these three ingredients because they all have plenty of benefits some share the same benefits so I thought mixing them would double the chances of healthy hair.

Results:
For me this mix made my hair easier to brush, easy to straighten, soft and refreshed, also my hair wasn't weighed down and I have no frizz.

Benefits of the ingredients:
Olive oil:
Makes hair softer
adds shine
is moisturising and stops frizz
helps keep hair from tanlging

Green tea:
Helps with hair growth
prevents hair loss
helps control dandruff
can soothe itchy scalp (it can also help soothe psoriasis)

Avocado:
Helps hair growth
moisturising
adds shine
prevents hair loss
can treat dry and itchy scalp
helps tackle frizz
helps control dandruff

There you go a super simple, easy to make mask which promotes healthy hair.

I hope you liked this post.

Smoothie Sunday | Apricot Delight

Once again I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried apricot, the only time I have eaten apricot is in   yogurt but I wanted to try the actual fruit so I made a smoothie.

Ingredients:
1 passion fruit
juice of half an orange
1 mango
3 apricots
100ml of coconut and pineapple juice.

This smoothie is for people with a sweet tooth, I hope you enjoy

When I payed for the apricots I was stood at the till for about 15 minutes because they weren't on the computer system so it took four different workers to work out how to pay.

I bought the coconut and pineapple juice because it is really expensive to buy coconut water on its own so I figured that this would be a good alternative and bought it, but silly me didn't read what was in it until I got home. It is full of added flavours and also milk, which I am sensitive with, I told you guys before I have a lot of bad luck.

April Favourites

Woooo April went fast, I know I say that each month but as the end of my college year draws closer, the quicker time seems to fly!

Beauty:
For skin care my favourites this month has to be Simple. I have been using the Kind to eyes smoothing eye balm and the Kind to skin vital vitamin day cream, also the vital vitamin foaming cleanser.

I have also been loving the super drug own brand tea tree facial cleansing wipes, they are super cheap there is a lot of them, they usual have a deal on them and they actually work, what more could you ask for. I would advise that you get the sensitive skin ones iv if your eyes are sensitive as well is your skin, you ask why? all i got one of each but the normal ones make my eyes water like I'm cutting an onion.

Iv also been loving Benefit Roller Lash, when I first saw the brush I didn't think it would be up to much, but a love it, your lashes look so natural and you don't need to use ten coats. Also if you are like me and don't like putting things close to your eye and the huge mascara bristles other brands use freak you out then Roller Lash is for you.

Lush Jungle Solid Conditioner, I know I put this up last month but I haven't just been using it for my hair, I thought I would see how it shapes up when it comes to shaving my legs and guys this is a magical product, I will write a review for you.

Smoothie Saturday | Simple Summer Smoothie

As I write this the sun is trying to push through the clouds and speed light throughout the kitchen, so I am glad that I made a summer berry smoothie because is England is trying, I should probably try too.

Ingredients:

  • a cup of strawberries half frozen, half fresh
  • half a cup of blue berries
  • a cup of blackberries half fresh, half frozen
  • a handful of frozen mango chunks
  • handful of red grapes
  • a tea spoon of honey
  • 200ml of water
So like I said super simple its like a juice, I wanted to add almond milk and yogurt but I forgot to buy them when I went shopping, and my banana weren't ripe enough so I didn't add one because I'm a ripe banana kinda girl.

With this being super simple you can easily add so many ingredients to amp up this recipe, so have fun!!
Thank you for reading guys!

Smoothie Saturday!!

So this is what i'm calling my "muddle mix" I was going to have an apple and kiwi smoothie but it ended up with so much more ingredients!

Ingredients:
1 Apple
2 Kiwi's
1 Banana
A handful of frozen pineapple
A handful of frozen peach
1 tbspn of milled flax seed
150ml of water

I say this is a muddle mix because I was going to make a simple smoothie but when I went to the freezer I realised that there was only 2 ice cubes left and I left them because I know my brother would want it for his protein shake, but then I stumbled across the frozen fruit I completely forgot I had!!!

It doesn't look like the most appetizing smoothie in the world but it tastes amazing and smells like a sweet shop perfect for when you have a sugary craving, I hope you guys enjoy it!

Thanks for reading
P.s I just remembered that I used a ripe banana not a fresh store bought one.

Smoothie Saturday: Pineapple Green Smoothie

Pineapple and coconut water smoothie

Simple smoothie recipe for the first smoothie saturday of the year!

Ingredients:
2 & half cups of pineapple
200ml of coconut water
2 handfuls of kale
1 tbsp linseed mix

Just blend it all up and enjoy, this smoothie is tangy due to all the pineapple. If you want you can swap out some of the pineapple for frozen pineapple to keep it cool.

Linseed is packed with fibre to help with digestion and also omega 3, buy milled linseed because they have already been broken down, otherwise they won't be able to be digested easily!

I found it hard to find the seed and coconut water in the UK but you can go to Holland and Barrett, or alternatively go to Aldi, they now sell different types of linseed mixes in the cereal section and they have just started supplying coconut water!

I also advise you not to have more than 2 tablespoons of linseed

Smoothie Saturday!!!

Okay be for I start I just want to say sorry to all my readers! I know that my posts have been few and far between, because I have had some problems in my personal life which left me in a non writing mood. I wrote a few posts in a notebook which I was going to but one is a haul which is a few weeks old so I don't know if I will post it, but if you guys want to see it then just ask!

Although I have been writing up posts lately I have had plenty of ideas which I have put into a list ready for when i'm feeling up to it and my writers block has left on his holidays! And one idea iv had is Smoothie Saturday, lately I have been trying to live by a healthier lifestyle and making smoothie's is something I enjoy doing so I thought I would post the recipes for the smoothie's I have made.

 Pineapple and Kiwi

1 banana
2 kiwi
1/2 a cup of frozen pineapple
1 handful of spinach
100ml of pineapple juice

To make:
First I blended the spinach and pineapple juice,
the added the banana and kiwi which I had to cut into chunks
then I the frozen pineapple, and lastly I added two raspberries on top!

I know that making smoothie's isn't rocket science but I have a handheld blender which isn't very good at blending all fruit and veg or frozen things so I had to cut everything in chunks first and add the frozen pineapple because I had to wait for them to slightly defrost first.

I'm looking around at the moment for some nice glasses or jars which I can put the smoothie's in to make these posts look a little prettier than the rubbish pictures you will be getting for the next few weeks, so sorry about that guys!

I know that this has been a rambling post but I wanted to update you guys and put up a quick post, thanks for reading.

Garden Projects

Since I was a little girl my nan has always had a garden filled with all different kinds of plants, and has taught me a few things as I've grown up, then my dad left it to me to look after our gardens. This year I am mainly growing strawberries and potato's, this is because, they are easy to grow, we always need potato's and I'm hoping to use the strawberries in so summer recipes in a few months also we are having a new patio laid down so the garden is too messy to have anything else.

But I have been looking to do some small, fun garden projects, to hopefully help me in the garden, make it look more colourful and also try and get my young nephew interested in growing plants and vegetables and hopefully teach him a few things.

I will be keeping my blog updated with any projects I do and also any, recipes I make that involves any of the plants I'm growing in the garden.
